Although we only issued the last newsletter a month ago, things are hotting up at venerari. Conscious of the fact that November and December are entirely consumed with meeting your demands for bespoke Christmas gifts, we are currently producing a huge and varied collection of stock items to tantalise and inspire you. | Venerari shines at 2006 Australian Jewellery Design Awards
Venerari recently won first place and runner up in Opal Design at the Jewellers Association of Australia [JAA] 2006 Australian Jewellery Design Awards � Australia's most prestigious jewellery design awards.
Genevieve accepted the award at a black tie event held at the Sydney Town Hall.
Opalace, the Opal Award category winner, is an 18ct yellow gold necklet on green satin cord and comprises 40 interconnected gold shapes, nine of which are set with natural solid Queensland boulder opals. The necklet's organic shapes are designed to celebrate the asymmetrical nature of natural opal and move with the body like a lace collar. Opalace is now for sale (price on application).
Doreen's Glory, the Opal Award category runner up, is an 18ct white gold ring plated with black and white rhodium and comprises one 3ct natural solid Queensland boulder opal and pave set rubies, pink, purple, yellow and blue sapphires, emerald and tsarvorite garnets.

| Venerari opens jewellery workshop
We�re recently taken the huge step of consolidating our jewellery workshop and Genevieve�s architectural studio in the same central Sydney space. Our workshop is now open and the first pieces of jewellery are now being handcrafted. We expect that sharing a space will enable Genevieve to work more closely with our jewelers on new design research and development. The cross fertilization of jewellery and architectural design should prove an interesting one for both the jewelers and architects who now work closely together. |

| Team changes
With the opening of our workshop, we welcome Stuart Howe as our master jeweler and goldsmith. Stuart brings to venerari a wealth of experience working with some of Australia�s leading jewelers, including Calleija and Maker�s Mark. Stuart is being assisted in the workshop by Cara, who begins her apprenticeship as a jeweler. She will also remain as a designer and sales professional with us. Claudia Schnell has joined us as a sales professional. Claudia is a qualified gemmologist, as well as multilingual � speaking her native German, as well as English and Spanish and useful French, Japanese and Chinese. Joanna will be leaving Sydney to move to Shanghai in October, where she will sourcing coloured gemstones for us. |

| Australian Opal Exhibition
Kingsley and Genevieve have recently returned from the annual Australian Opal Exhibition � the largest gathering of opal miners, cutters, wholesalers and retailers in the world. Of course, they have brought back a selection of fabulous new opals which you can now view unset for designing into bespoke pieces. Some of these opals will make their way into our shop collections soon. |

| King of the Road
Did you see Kingsley featured in Wish, The Australian�s monthly magazine this August? The Pursuits section carried a double page spread on his historic car racing interest, with a sensational photograph of his 1967 Alfa Romeo Duetto. Unfortunately it was the only image taken which did not capture some of the glorious venerari jewellery designs on the car�s bonnet and boot. |

| An Evening with the Designers
Hard to believe, but our 2nd birthday beckons in October. Again, it coincides with The Strand�s annual Evening with the Designers on 17th October � an invitation only cocktail party at Sydney�s epicentre of style, fashion and glamour where you can meet the designers at The Strand�s shops.
