Celebrating our 3rd Birthday
We recently celebrated venerari’s 3rd birthday by being a finalist in the Harpers Bazaar Jewellery Design Awards. Whilst that may not surprise you (having been around for 3 years or receiving further accolades for our designs), you may be surprised to learn that our entry was a diamond ring! Yes, in response to the growing demands of our clients, we are beginning to experiment with the diamond, but not as you may know it. The ring is in platinum with three marquis cut coloured diamonds – blue, green and yellow – all extremely rare shades.

Diamonds for people who don't like diamonds
The above ring is the forerunner of a new collection of diamond jewellery which we aim to release early next year, and which is already tentatively appearing in store (briefly it seems, before its sold). Our focus will be on natural coloured diamonds, but we’ll also be doing a few new designs to shake up the stale white diamond jewellery market. We are having a lot of fun with strange shapes, mixtures of colours, and rough diamonds – the latter are particularly appropriate to at least one partner in most of our client couples…

Are you ready for Christmas?
Our little elves are busily working away in our workshop making plenty of treasure for Christmas. As usual, we will have a full stock of all our popular collections, as well as some new designs, in store from mid November for the early Christmas shoppers. With handcrafted stunning designs from $250, we find that most people have done their shopping by mid-December, so please don’t hope to leave it till the last minute, and still find that piece you’ve had your eye on for months.

Bespoke Orders
If you are considering commissioning a bespoke piece, either a new design or one to match an existing venerari jewel, please focus now. Our jewellers are already busy busy busy. At the moment, we’d anticipate that early December will be the latest date we can accept orders for a Christmas delivery. So come into the store and sit down with one of our gemmologists/designers to make your loved ones something they won’t see elsewhere.

Merchant of Style
Did you see us in Wish Magazine recently? In its annual luxury issue, venerari was the featured jeweller in its Merchants of Style article, introducing Australia’s luxury entrepreneurs. Since our last newsletter, venerari has featured constantly in the press as fashion commentators, stylists and other journalists discover what you have known for years: that venerari is truly Australia’s most innovative jeweller, reinventing the opal by bringing modern design to Australian gemstones and jewellery. Our website’s press section has copies of all these press articles if you missed them.

Vogue Living
Oh dear, Vogue has finally discovered us! The special collector’s Vogue Living 40th anniversary issue, out now, profiles Genevieve’s interacting careers as both an architect and (venerari’s) jewellery designer. It makes the interesting observation that the difference between the two disciplines may be as simple as one of scale, for Genevieve’s jewellery is often obviously design driven and architectural in style, whilst her buildings and interiors (such as venerari’s Strand store) are often jewel like.
